All time great quarterback Tom Brady of the New England Patriots spills the beans on his formula for an athlete’s best diet plan and fitness exercise training program during his interview with bodybuilding.com. For an athlete who already has three Superbowl wins on his belt, Tom understands that fitness is a top priority if he wants to continuously lead his team to further wins. In fact, he praises his team for having a great fitness training staff to help him in his fitness exercise sessions.
Tom Brady’s Exercise Program
So what kind of fitness training exercise programs does this young athlete do? Well this quarterback says he exercises weekly to keep in shape. During game season,Tom Brady’s fitness training involves weight lifting exercises four days a week: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. He also does 40 – 60 minutes of cardio exercises six days per week in order to improve his conditioning. During in season, Tom Brady mixes up his fitness training with cardio exercises using a variety of fitness machines such as the stepper and precor. Aside from this, he also exercises through running.
And since this quarterback has never been blessed with great speed, to avoid pass rush during games, he does a lot of fitness exercises to improve his mobility. The NFL star does a lot of fitness exercise drills such as shuffling and sliding exercises plus quite a bit of jump rope to improve his quickness and shiftiness.
Athletes also need good footwork and eye coordination skills. Jumping rope exercise gives him this. Jumping rope is one of the simplest and yet one of the most effective exercises you can do. A 15-20 minutes jumping rope exercise will give you an unparalleled total body workout.

What about the off season? Tom still doesn’t just sit around! In fact, this champ says he makes it a point to exercise just as hard! His fitness training activity in the off season switches weight lifting exercises over a fitness training routine more oriented towards strength focused exercises. His fitness training sessions also are usually about 25% longer since his body isn’t beat up from playing.
Tom Brady’s Diet Plan
Tom also gives an overview of the diet plan that he follows. Junk food? No thanks! As a professional athlete, he says he always like to eat clean since he feels that it’s what his body demands. He says the best diet plan is getting enough quality protein in along with healthy snacks like fruits, veggies, granola and nuts.

The NFL star says he takes diet supplements such as vitamins, protein shakes and protein bars to help him in getting high quality protein specially when pressed for time. He also takes creatine to improve his strength for lifting exercises.
