Sean Henry Faris is an American model and actor. He is best known for his roles as Jake Tyler in Never Back Down and Rick Penning in Forever Strong. And although he’s just started flexing his muscles in the show, he’s actually been doing fitness training for years. He once even had to put on 15 pounds of muscles for a movie role and once broke a bone in his lower back when he had undergone an intense fitness exercise program for his MTV Movie award winning ‘Best Fight’ scene in Never Back Down. He made it through the rigorous fitness training and even developed a baseline level of fitness and shares his fundamental fitness exercise tips:

Fitness Exercise Tip #1: Start small

The actor/model says anybody can achieve fitness but you have to give your body time to adjust and take on reasonable fitness goals. Don’t overwork your body during your fitness exercise program. Only once you’ve reached your fitness goals can you begin to make your fitness exercise program more challenging.

Fitness Exercise Tip #2:  Embrace unsteadiness

Sean Faris does his fitness training exercises by using exercise equipments such as weights, but he advises to not use a belt in his fitness exercise – this way you are forced to focus on keeping your midsection tight and your lower back in its natural position. Every fitness exercise you do this way works your core, which strengthens your midsection and endurance levels.

Another fitness training exercise tip from Sean Faris is to stick to your usual repetition ranges, but occasionally challenge yourself in your fitness exercise with an ambitious one of say 50 to 60 reps, depending on what you’re doing. But if you feel you can’t do another rep with good form, rest a little and then continue your fitness training.

“I see so many people in the gym just slinging weight exercise equipment around,” Sean Faris says. “You can accomplish more in your fitness exercise program if you squeeze the reps out in perfect form, instead of going big and trying to kill it every time.”

Fitness Exercise Tip #5: Play anything

The actor also dishes out this fitness exercise tip: Try new moves in your fitness training, use exercise equipment like weights or reps and add a little more of that in your fitness exercise but if you’re bored don’t continue doing the same fitness exercises or you’ll plateau. You can take your fitness exercise training outside the gym by giving a new sport a try. Finding other ways to stay active is a good idea to keep faithful in your fitness exercise program, no matter what you do: Every time you learn a new sport or skill, you make your body more versatile and widen the scope of physical feats you can achieve.

Sean Faris has tried just about every sport to keep up with his fitness exercise program. As a teenager, he was his high school’s one-man diving team — even though the school didn’t have a pool. When he visits his family’s farm in Texas, he pitches in with hours of manual labor. “It’s an incredible fitness training exercise especially in the summer when it’s, like, 100-plus degrees and humid,” he says.
