Gary Barlow is an English singer-songwriter, pianist and record producer. He is the frontman of the pop-rock group Take That. Barlow is one of Britain’s most successful songwriters. He has had two Number 1 singles and a Number 1 album as a solo artist, and has had sixteen top 5 hits, eleven Number 1 singles and seven Number 1 albums with Take That. He is a five-time recipient of the Ivor Novello Award and has been voted the greatest British songwriter of all time.
Barlow, who wrote the majority of the group’s songs, is generally recognised as the musical talent behind Take That.The five-piece vocal group consisted of Barlow, Howard Donald, Jason Orange, Mark Owen and Robbie Williams. The UK group were signed to RCA records, and after a number of top 40 hits, eventually secured their first Number 1 with Barlow’s “Pray”. Previous hits included “A Million Love Songs”, “It Only Takes A Minute” and “Could It Be Magic”.
Take That singer Gary Barlow has opened up about having a healthy weight loss plan and shared his weight loss secrets.
After reaching a weight of 240lbs, as a result of his band ‘Take That’ splitting up back in 1996, singer Gary Barlow has now finally learned what a healthy weight loss diet plan is all about. He has embarked on a healthy weight loss diet plan that is strict enough to prevent him from eating too much, but balanced enough to allow him to splurge once in a while.
Back in 2006 he confessed that in the early days of Take That “the dance routines kept my weight down, but there was no doubting I was the fat one. I would be the last band member the stylist would tackle and even then Nigel would say: ‘Will someone find Gary a top?’”
The songwriter confessed that a few years ago, he didn’t have any kind of weight loss program. He would get up earlier so he could eat more. But these days, he’s learned the magic of portion control as the secret to his successful healthy weight loss program.
“The key to my healthy weight loss diet plan was portion sizes and I think people forget that, if you can control your portion size you can eat what you want and you’ve cracked it,” he said. “You don’t have to deprive yourself of including anything in your diet plan.”
Nowadays things are very different. The star has had a massive weight loss, and with Take That back on the international scene as one of the most popular pop groups of the moment, he’s having the time of his life. Instead of being overly strict with himself, Barlow found that being patient was the best way to lose weight.
In addition to that, he was advised by a friend not to go on a seven-day, non-stop weight loss diet plan because, at some point, he’ll most likely want to give up and then “fall of the wagon”. Therefore, he decided that his healthy weight loss diet plan should also include a cheat day. So, Gary sticks to his healthy weight loss diet plan for 6 days and on the last day of the week he forgets all about it and just splurges.
“I’d get up early on a Saturday to get started but I would make such a pig of myself and I thought ‘I don’t want to be this’ and after a few weeks the food got less and now it’s a part of life, I know when I’m full and I even recognize when I’m full but want to keep eating because I’m a pig,” he confessed.
Gary Barlow’s Fitness Training Exercise Program
Aside from keeping a healthy weight loss diet plan, Gary makes sure that he has a fitness training exercise program every day, except weekends, to keep his body in shape. He’s into cardio exercise, Pilates exercise and tennis. He calls himself a ‘cardio exercise man’, and says he has never tried yoga exercise.
He added: “I must say if I didn’t do my fitness training exercise program as much I’d be a different size but I do my fitness exercise program every day except Saturdays and Sundays.” He also admitted that he would probably put weight back on if he didn’t do any fitness training exercise program activity so he makes sure nowadays to do some form of fitness exercise program activity.
