Donny Osmond has had quite a success over the years in Hollywood. From being a teen idol singer to becoming a talk show host, game show host, record producer and author. But this star will always be most well known for being the other half of the brother-sister singing act Donny & Marie.
On Season 9 of DWTS, Donny was one of the contestants who, as witnessed by many, melted right before their eyes while dancing their hearts out on stage and danced he did all the way to the very top, making him the 9th celebrity to win the coveted mirrorball! But here’s something only a few knew, Donny Osmond was the only contestant on DWTS who still continued to work while he was on the show! He’s certainly a very busy man and with his recent weight loss success, is he about to give his sister Marie Osmond some competition?
His Amazing Weight Loss Journey
Donny Osmond is certainly an already fit and trim man but like so many other stars who’ve joined Dancing with the Stars, he admits that he had an amazing weight loss while on the show – at least 20 pounds! The winning finalist told US Magazine after winning the competition, “My weight loss is incredibly amazing! At least twenty pounds! I weighed myself last night. Every part of my body hurts, especially my broken toe, but that’s alright – I got the mirrorball!”
Donny’s weight loss diet plan is very balanced. His weight loss diet plan consists of predominately lean meats, fruits and veggies, and the occasional protein shake diet supplements when’s he’s in a hurry. One of his weight loss tips? Don’t drink caffeine or alcohol!
His Fitness Exercise Program
At 51, Donny Osmond wins Dancing with the Stars (DWTS) 2009. Donny had traveled between three states but all the while, he has been faithful to his fitness training exercise program. And this is with the help of Las Vegas fitness trainer Adam Gentz, General Manager of the Strength Center Larogs Vegas. “Health and wellness are very important to me, Adam’s knowledge of personal fitness training exercise program helps keep me in the best possible shape. I’m keeping up with kids half my age on Dancing with the Stars.”
So what did fitness trainer Gentz do for Donny’s fitness exercise program? Gentz developed a high intensity, dance specific, workout. Gentz also developed a fitness exercise program specifically for Donny that consisted of explosive plyometric exercises (that would have the respect of any professional athlete) focusing on core strength exercises, balance exercises, and footwork exercises. Donny Osmond’s fitness exercise program lasts about an hour for at least two times per week. In addition to personal fitness training, Donny’s DWTS dance practices and his Las Vegas Flamingo Hotel show performances provide Donny with additional fitness training specifically cardio exercises.
And when Donny Osmond is not doing any fitness training exercises, he keeps himself active and busy with work! His personal fitness trainer, Gentz, said “While he was competing on DWTS, Donny also traveled to continue to perform for his Las Vegas show at the Flamingo hotel, he recorded a new solo album, and he’s also working on his first album with Marie for the first time in over 30 yrs!”
Aside from keeping a disciplined physical fitness training exercise program and living an active lifestyle, Donny also exercises a positive outlook in life. “Donny’s a positive person. He’s surrounded himself around with the nicest people. As those close to him call it, “Team Donny” is the best,” his fitness trainer Gentz describes. And after winning the Discoball trophy Donny exclaimed breathlessly, “I’ve done a lot of things in my career and this will rank right as one of the top!”
