How David Banner Lost Fat Fast
Rapper David Banner is originally from Mississippi and he’s got the state tattooed across his back. He grew up eating lots of comfort foods. After ballooning to more than 255 lbs, his diet plan eating habits and (non-existent) fitness exercise program had put his health at serious risk. In his interview with Men’s Health we learned a bit about how he decided to finally lose weight.
The rapper confesses that he once tried to lose weight because he had health concerns. “I had high blood pressure, really high blood pressure, sleep apnea, and I was really close to diabetes. And the doctor was like, “that’s a deadly combination.” The doctor advised him that Banner needed to lose weight so that he could determine whether or not David Banner’s high blood pressure was genetic. That’s something he took as a challenge. “After I did an interview with allhiphop.com, I had so many young black and Latino people come to me to say, “dude, I’m in the same situation.” That’s what really motivated him to push himself further in his weight loss program.
Since undergoing a weight loss program, he began to feel the difference. He no longer had sleep apnea, his blood pressure dropped and he’s not diabetic. However, even after his significant weight loss, he still needs to watch his blood pressure since the doctor has determined that his high blood pressure was genetic.
Because of he had to undergo a weight loss program, he had to give up certain foods and replace them with something else as part of his weight loss diet plan. “Macaroni and cheese is probably the hardest thing for me to give up on my diet plan, so is fried chicken, but what I tell people is this: once you submerge yourself into a healthy weight loss diet plan, I am willing to bet any amount of money that you will find the same amount of healthy things that you like and dislike, that you would unhealthy things.”
David Banner said that his old diet plan doesn’t actually include every unhealthy thing such as fried catfish. “There are certain things I don’t eat in my diet plan. But in the healthy world, there’s the same amount of things that I like and dislike, there’s certain things that I consider to be sweet. There’s a vegan smart cookie that they sell at Smoothie King that I love, and I really can’t taste the difference. There’s certain healthy salad dressings that taste as good as the unhealthy ones, but you just have to take the time out to submerge yourself in that world to find those things.”
Even when he’s on the road a lot, the rapper says keeping a healthy weight loss diet plan is easier than sticking to a fitness exercise program. “Having a fitness exercise program is harder than a healthy weight loss diet plan. There are excuses for anything. Health is just something that you have to agree on, that you’re serious about. You’ll find a way to make it happen.”
And, serious, this man is. He’s feeling better than he did at the age of 20. Part of his fitness exercise program is enjoying running exercises and even increased his weight loss goal to 205 after reaching his first weight loss goal of 215. I do my fitness exercise program about 4-5 times week – fitness exercise is my drug of choice!
Because he has been so excited and motivated to achieve his healthy weight loss goals, he has become an inspiration to many of his fans and even fellow rappers. T-Pain has said that his inspiration for his 30 pounds weight loss is Banner and his fitness trainer, Scott Parker’s, clientele is growing because of him as well. Now, his only problem is making sure he does not lose weight too much, but rather focuses on putting the muscle back on with the help of his fitness trainer.
“I know how not to — and this is strange, fitness trainer, Scott Parker] said he’s never seen this before — but I can have a weight loss of five pounds in a week. I know exactly what to do. I know how to do my fitness exercise program through running, how to set my own weight loss plans, just based on my body chemistry and my body makeup. I know what to eat in my weight loss diet plan, I know how many times a day to run as part of my fitness exercise program, I know how much water to drink in order to really control my body weight. So now I’m in a position where I know my body,” he concludes.
